Almost 2 Years

Ashton's accomplishments & tastes over the past two years:

  • He can sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, his ABCs, Praise Ye the Lord, Row, Row, Row Your Boat and NOW Mary Had a Little Lamb, There's Just Something About that Name, Peanut Butter Jelly Song and many more. (he LOVES to sing!).
  • Our little man very much enjoys Playdoh. It's a chore getting him to eat his dinner because he wants so badly to play with the Playdoh.
  • When playing with it, he likes to sort, have Mommy & Daddy roll each color into different size balls and mix and match the lids.
  • He's a master at his colors! Red, Blue, Green, Yellow (favorite), Orange, White (another favorite), Black & Pink.
  • Ashton loves his shoes and rarely likes it when we take them off. He gets so attached to his new pairs each time we buy them.
  • He's very sweet and affectionate, giving and blowing kisses and big hugs when Mommy or Daddy get's home. We're always greeted by an excited "MOMMY!" or "DADDY!" as he runs toward us. It's the best feeling in the world.
  • Ashton can give you most any animal noise on "command," but sometimes proves to be a little shy.
  • He still prefers to be held and YES we still hold him the majority of the time, although, don't get me wrong, he does his fair share of walking, a.k.a. running around the house, outside when it's nice and at school too.
  • His absolute favorite movie is Curious George "Roller Monkey" that he got for Christmas along with a Curious George plush doll with roller skates. We just started letting him watch videos at the house and man is he hooked... on that one anyway! The only other video we've shown him at the house is Veggie Tales "A Snoodle's Tale" which has a few cute stories and of which he enjoys.
  • Ashton screams "FOOT-BAAAALLLL" each time he sees any football clips on TV.
  • He's working on counting to ten: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10. That's what we have so far!
  • He had been sleeping in his toddler bed for a few months, however, for the past 3 weeks he's been sleeping with Mommy & Daddy in their bed.
  • His favorite foods are turkey weiners, black beans, peas, oatmeal, cheerios, "fishies" and raisins.
  • Ashton loves his family and randomly lists them out loud sometimes, saying them as fast as he can.
  • Ashton likes to help. He helps push the laundry into the dryer, pick up his blocks, put the decorative pillows on Mommy & Daddy's bed, check the mail and other miscellaneous items around the house.
  • Some cute phrases: Awww man ("man" is in a Jamaican-like accent), WHOA Buddy (buddy sounds like butty), More PEASE! (he always very enthusiastic when saying this).
  • He has great manners of whom I attribute most of that to the excellent care he receives at his "school." He says, please, thank you and your welcome. I love it!
  • Ashton is very adamant about knowing what he wants and going for it.
  • He also loves to read the various Bible stories in a Bible Heroes book we found at Weirs Furniture of all places. I was surprised that he was so into the stories since they are just short stories over certain Bible characters.
  • We are so excited to see him grow up to be the man that God created him to be.

We LOVE you Ashton!
