The Rheine River: Rudesheim, Germany

After a day of site seeing and staying the night in Frankfurt, we decided to take a short detour to the Rheinland and see the castles along the Rheine river.  It was beautiful!  We didn't get to tour these castles as we were on a river tour, but they were still stunning from the outside.  Also, it was so amazing to see all of the vineyards planted up very steep hills.  Imagine harvesting the grapes on that much of a slant!

Unfortunately, we didn't get to see the actual city life of Rudesheim, but we did get to see the extensive vineyards and had a lunch stop at the Lara Ley station (one of the tour stops) where we chose to end the tour.
